Mr. Chandler Thornton Brown, 82, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022 at his home.

Born on January 18, 1940 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Benson Chandler Brown and Jewel Thornton Brown.  Mr. Brown was a graduate of the University of Georgia and retired plant manager of Stonecutter Mills, Spindale NC.

Survivors include his wife: Barbara Ann Wyrick Brown, two sons: Tommy Brown (Valerie) of Rutherfordton NC and Michael Brown (Jennifer) of Simpsonville SC; two grandchildren: Hannah Brown (Philip Russ) of Shelby NC and Benson Brown (Payton Lee) of Inman SC; a great-grandchild: Audree Brown; three sisters-in-law: Joy Brown of Elberton, Pauline Brown of Jackson TN and Donna Rule (Ricky) of Kernersville NC and a number of nieces & nephews also survive.   Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: William Brown, Jimmy Brown and Max Brown.

A private memorial service celebrating the life of Thornton will be held at a later date by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local Hospice Organization or Humane Society.
