Mr. Timothy Ray Norris, age 41, of Lavonia, died Monday, September 29, 2008 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born June 17, 1967, in Clarke County, he was the son of Odis Norris and Sandra Bradley Burroughs. He was a farmer and a firefighter with Five Area Volunteer Fire Department, where he formerly served as captain for 19 years. He was a member of the Franklin County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, Franklin County Cattlemen's' Association, and Franklin County Young Farmers. Mr. Norris was a member of the New Franklin Christian Church.
He is survived by wife: Virginia Howard Norris of the home; sons: Christopher Ray Norris & Timothy Logan Lee Norris of the home; niece: Faith Nichole Toy of the home; mother and step-father: Sandra & Hal Burroughs of Lavonia; father and step-mother: Odis & Tina Norris of Martin; brother: Ken Norris of Lavonia; and sister: Rhonda Nichols of Lavonia.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 at New Franklin Christian Church with Bro. Dolph Painter and Rev. Daniel Thompkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The officers of Five Area Volunteer Fire Dept. will serve as pallbearers. The body will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
