IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tina
Thomas
July 15, 1939 – November 18, 2025
Ernestine A. Cooke "Tina" Thomas, a resident of Lavonia, Georgia, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital. Born on July 15, 1939, Tina was the daughter of the late Ernest Cooke and Edna Balsz.
Tina was born in New Hall, California, where she graduated from high school and embarked on a remarkable career as a dedicated clerk with the Secret Service. Her professional life was marked by integrity and a commitment to excellence. Beyond her career, Tina found immense joy in the company of her family and friends. She was an avid crafter and had a profound appreciation for Native American culture and jewelry. However, it was the simple pleasure of sharing memorable meals with her loved ones that brought her the greatest happiness.
Tina's legacy is lovingly carried on by her daughters, Laura Herron and Veronica Baggett; her grandchildren, Alicia Milligan, Brad Herron, Ernie Dominguez, and Kelly Herron; and her great-grandchildren, Jaden Milligan, Jazmin Dominguez, Danalee Milligan, with two more little ones expected soon. In addition to her parents, Tina is reunited in peace with her beloved children, Leticia Thomas and Scott Thomas, who preceded her in death.
In accordance with Tina's wishes, she was cremated. The family plans to honor her beautiful spirit with a private service in the Spring, where they will celebrate the life she lived with love and laughter.
Arrangements are being handled by Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia. Friends and family are invited to share their memories and condolences by signing the online guest register at http://stricklandfh.com.
