Mr. Toby Ervin "Ted" Hicks Jr., 72, of Farn Drive, Ellenwood GA, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Piedmont – Henry Hospital, Stockbridge GA.

Born on January 28, 1944 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Toby E. Hicks Sr. and Ruth Murray Hicks.Mr. Hicks was a retired mechanic for the Dobbins Air Force Base Fire Department.He was also a member of the Ellenwood Masonic Lodge #251, member of the American Bass Anglers Association and a member of the Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife: Betty Cape Hicks; a daughter: Louise Kinnard and her husband Allen of Eastanollee; a step-daughter: Joyce Abercrombie and her husband Josh of Eastanollee; a sister: Joyce Thornton of Portsmouth VA; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild also survive.Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son: Tony Martin and four sisters: Sara Haynie, Mary Frame, Susan Roberts, and Louise Hicks.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Andy Scott officiating.Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.The family is at the home of Louise and Allen Kinnard, 296 Whitworth – Eastanollee Road, Eastanollee GA.
