Mr. Todd McKern Jones, 53, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at his home.

Born on September 29, 1966 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Paul Talmadge Jones and Louise McKern Jones.Mr. Jones was a former shipping clerk for TriState Distributors in Royston, GA, a former Boy Scout, and a member of the Milltown Baptist Church. Todd was a retired firefighter of 30 plus years of service from Hart County Fire Station 6 and one of the first to be hired as a full time firefighter in Hart County. He was a member of the Georgia Firefighters Honor Guard. Mr. Jones was veteran of the US Army, after which he served in the Georgia and South Carolina National Guard.

Survivors include his wife: Cynthia Thompson Jones; his son: Steven Goldsmith (Holli) of Bowersville; two daughters: Amber Dutton (Matthew) and Mecessa Jones, all of Hartwell; one sister: Tami J. Teasley (Donald) of Hartwell; four grandchildren: Hunter Dutton, Brison Dutton, Kade Dutton, and Aleigha Goldsmith; one niece: Angela T. Owens (TJ) of Hartwell; and one special friend who was like a brother: Terry Reid of Hartwell.

Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation.They ask that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks. A family graveside service for Mr. Todd Jones will be held Monday, April 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Garden of Prayer with Rev. Bruce Eaves officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Breast Cancer Association, 113 Redbud Ln, Augusta, GA 30907, or a Humane Society of one's choice.
