Mr. Tom Hackett, 94, of 5000 Redwine Church Road, Canon, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at his home.

Born on August 25, 1921 in Anderson SC, he was the son of the late Harrison Hackett and Annie Hackett.Mr. Hackett was a self-employed handyman and of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include his wife: Timmie Harris Hackett; four sons: Donald "Doc" Hackett of Antreville SC, Clinton "Bull" Hackett, Junior Lee and Jimmy Lee all of Hartwell; four daughters: Debra Slater of Macon, Emily Saxon and Marie Carver both of Hartwell and Gail Powell of Anderson SC; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Hackett was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Nell Ricks; three sons: Johnny, Clyde and Doug Hackett and a grandson: Christopher Lee.

Mr. Hackett wishes were to be cremated and private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
