Mr. Thomas Ray Blakely, Jr., age 57, of Lavonia, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at his home.
Born February 22, 1953 in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late Thomas Ray Blakely, Sr. and Susan White Blakely.Mr. Blakely was owner & operator of Southeastern Industrial Electrical Contractors. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by grand daughter: Annabelle Kimberly Rogers; and father in law: Inman Thrasher.
He is survived by his mother: Sue Blakely; wife: Kim Blakely of the home; son & daughter in law: Adam & Sara Blakely of Lavonia; daughters & son in laws: Aimbra & Chris Kaylor and Allison & John Rogers all of Lavonia; grandchildren: Savannah Blakely, Georgia & Blake Kaylor, and Thomas Rogers; sister: Wanda Floyd of Lavonia; and mother in law: Jerry Thrasher of Hartwell.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Finger officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City Cemetery.
The family will receive friend at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. At other hours the family will be at the home. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
