Tommy Dorsey

Mr. Tommy Edward Dorsey, 82, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, SC.

Born on May 21, 1943 in Oconee County, SC, he was the son of the late Thadeus Eugene Dorsey and Ruby Lee Gantt Dorsey. Mr. Dorsey was retired from Clark-Schwebel as an electronic technician, and a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church where he was a former member of the video ministry. He was also a member of the Little Bear Hunting Club.

Survivors include his wife: Martha H. Dorsey of the home; seven children: Joey Dorsey of Canon, Jeff Dorsey (Jennifer) of Bogart, GA, and Nick Dorsey (Leah) of Franklin Springs, Susan Dorsey of Anderson SC, Eddie Dorsey (Christy) of Anderson SC, Ted Dorsey (Susan) of Charleston SC and Ted Dorsey (Melody) of Anderson SC; two brothers: Carl Dorsey of Anderson, SC, and Dewy Dorsey (Belinda) of Anderson, SC; nine grandchildren: Parker, Brayden, Clay, Gracelyn, Levi, Allie, Carter, Morgan, and Hayden Dorsey also survive.

Mr. Dorsey was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Larry, David E, and Homer Dorsey; and one sister: Frances D. Hale.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 29, 2025 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. Tommy Dorsey will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Cory Pulliam officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Flat Shoals Baptist Church, 2999 Bowersville Hwy, Bowersville, GA 30516.
