Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Carter Morrison, Jr., 66, of Royston Hwy., Royston, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at his home.

Born on March 12, 1949, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Carter Morrison, Sr and Doris Winn Morrison Brown.Mr. Morrison was retired after 37 years with Bagwell Brothers, Inc. He was a 1967 graduate of Hart County High School and also attended Georgia Southwestern in Americus and
Emmanuel College.A Vietnam veteran, Tommy achieved the rank of sergeant in the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces in June 1971. He was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church and an avid hunter, fisherman and founding member of the H & T Hunt Club.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years: Dianne Bagwell Morrison; one son: Russell Hayes Morrison; one daughter: Ashley Morrison Johnson and her husband Darby all of Royston; four grandchildren: Tallis Morrison, Abbie, Carter, and Luke Johnson; and one brother: Jeff Morrison of Gainesville, GA.Mr. Morrison was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 30, 2015, 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
