Mr. Tommy Ray Smith, age 56, of 128 Annie's Lane, Martin, died Wednesday February 13 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on March 17, 1951 in Hart Co. GA, he was the son of Annie Sue Cobb Smith of Hartwell and the late Troy Jackson Smith.He was owner-operator of Smith's TV of Hartwell.He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Trustee, Deacon, founder of the video ministry, former choir member and SS teacher.
Survivors include his wife: Glenda Canady Smith of the home; a son: Mark Thomas Smith and his wife Crystal of Anderson SC; a daughter: Christie Smith Wooten and her husband Todd of Walhalla SC; a step-son: Darren Dye of Hartwell; two brothers: Bob Smith of Hartwell and Tim Smith of Atlanta; three sisters: Shirley Barnard and Jean Madden both of Hartwell and Janice Bharadwaj of Fullerton CA; nine grandchildren: Jackson Thomas Smith, Sarah Nell Smith, Grant Thomas Smith Wooten, Sawyer Todd Wooten, Finn Ryen Wooten, Jessica Lynette Dye, Heather Michelle Dye, Hunter Darren Dye and Michael Osborne also survives.Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father and first wife: Nell Mitchell Smith.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Ross Layne, Rev. David Wilson, Rev. Irby Jackson and Rev. Doug Ferguson officiating.Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
