Mrs. Tonnie Sue Madden Baker, 95, of Hartwell, widow of the late William "Bill" Baker, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at Landmark Hospital in Athens.

Born on November 23, 1916 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Ira Madden and Myra Ella Osborne Madden.She was a member of Hartwell First Baptist Church, and a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, FCS, and attended Reed Creek Baptist Church Golden Agers. She retired from the Hartwell Garment Company as a seamstress.

Survivors include one son, Scott Baker of Springfield, Virginia; two sisters: Inez O'Barr of Hartwell and Wilma Farrington of Greensboro, NC.Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers: Coleman Madden, Kermit Madden, Dupree Madden, Ibe Madden; and three sisters: Mildred Pinson, Marie Kirkman, and Mamie Cohen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.Burial will follow at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
