Mr. Kenneth Tony Taylor, age 78, of Lavonia, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at Highland Hills Memory Care in Athens.
Born July 30, 1941 in Camden, SC, he was the son of the late Leeman Curtis Taylor and Sibyl Oree (Watkins) Taylor. After graduating high school he graduated from Wingate College and attended East Tennessee State University and worked as an Insurance Agent for Liberty National Life Insurance Company until his retirement. He enjoyed farming, especially cutting and baling hay. Mr. Taylor was an avid fisherman and was a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law: Frances Taylor & Mark Alewine and Alice & Ken Fetuao; son & daughter-in-law: Tracy & Teresa Taylor; grandchildren: Lilly Grace Taylor-Alewine, Barrett Taylor-Alewine, Palmer Taylor, Colby Taylor, Kenneth Lewis, and Randle Lewis; siblings: Myrt Taylor Meetze, Valerie Taylor Ballard & husband, Stephen, and Myra Taylor.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Brenda Taylor Brown and Donald Taylor.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Pastor Ken Fetuao officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the service.
