Mr. Travis E. Reed, age 81, of Royston, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Comer Health and Rehabilitation.
Born September 28, 1933, in Lavonia, he was the son of the late William Fisher Reed and Cecil Welborn Reed. He retired from the Royston Corporation as purchasing manager.
He is survived by his wife Emily (Almond) Reed; son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Donna Reed of Carnesville; daughter and son-in-law: Stephanie and Bill Dungan of Powder Springs; sisters: Mildred Rucker and Patsy Etter; grandchildren Matthew Reed, Caroline Payne, Reed Dungan, Greg Dungan, John Dungan, and Blake Dungan; and great-grandchildren: Korbin Reed, Hannah Payne, Eli Payne, Noah Dungan, Austin Payne, and Bryson Dungan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 siblings.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 until the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or the American Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
