Obituary

Mr. James Troy Bowers, 86, of 3093 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA, died Thursday, December 06, 2007 at Hart County Hospital.

Born May 4, 1921 in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late William Nathaniel Bowers and Mamie Welborn Bowers.He was a Self Employed Contractor and Farmer.He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, a former Deacon, served on the Building Committee, and a member of Mac Doyle Sunday School Class.He was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater.

He is survived by:Wife, Julia Mae McLane Bowers of the home; Son, Ronnie Bowers of Hartwell, GA; Daughter, Elaine Bowers of Hartwell, GA; Brother, Farris Bowers of Hartwell, GA; Sister, Hilda Mauldin of Hartwell, GA.He is preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers, Loyd, Hoyt, Carey, Dewey, Joe, Waco and Tom Bowers; and two Sisters, Zell O'Barr and Mary Madge Burns.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.Rev. Joe Black and Rev. Bill Harris will officiate.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Church.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional; Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Building Fund, 2973 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA30643.
