Andrew Troy Worthey, 71, of Hartwell, husband of Doris Worthey, died October 7, 2012 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. He was born October 28, 1940 to the late Ann Worthey Crowe in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Troy owned and operated Worthey Concrete. He was a member of the Hart County Republican Party and the Farm Bureau Commodity Committee. His hobbies included beekeeping, hunting and tractor pulling. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by his daughter, Tammy Frye and her husband Bill Frye of Hartwell, GA; four grandchildren, Jessie Frye, Jake Frye, Anna Frye, and Erik Frye, a son James Worthey of Florida, a brother and sister-in law, Dan and Cheryl Crowe of Winder, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Sherry Crowe of Winder, GA., sister and brother-in-law "Chris" and Stark Hudson of Greensboro, GA. Mr. Worthey was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers: Joe Crowe and Roy Crowe; and a sister, Sybil Hansford.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Terry Meeks officiating.The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.Burial will follow in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
