Mrs. Una Ussery Johnson, age 84, of 401 Dovetown Road, Royston, formerly of the Bethany Community in Hartwell, died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at her home.
She was the widow of Julian E. Johnson.Born September 16, 1921 in Hart County, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Beulah Hill Ussery.She was a retired seamstress, and a member of Redwine United Methodist Church.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, J. Alton and Rachelene Johnson of Hartwell, Sammy and Gail Johnson of Canon, Jimmy and Becky Johnson of Danielsville, Charles and Nanna Johnson of Canon, Rev. Gene and Joy Johnson of Wales, United Kingdom, and Wayne and Angie Johnson of Danielsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Wayne Pridgen of Royston and Gail and Ken Macomson of Carnesville; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Claude and Connie Johnson of Hartwell.She was preceded in death by two baby daughters, Nancy Louise and Mary Lynn Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 28, 2006, at the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Jenkins and Rev. Talmadge Ethridge officiating.Burial will follow in Redwine United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Sunday evening.The family is at the home of Jan and Wayne Pridgen on Otis Skelton Road in Royston.
