Mr. Daniel Vance Roberts, Sr., age 87, of 6403 Elberton Road, Tignall, Ga., died Friday, November 24, 2006 at his residence.

Born November 14, 1919 in Hart County, he was the son of the late Daniel Crawford Roberts and Orrie Wilbanks Roberts. He was the retired owner/operator of AG Grocery in Bowman, Ga., with 25 years of service and Roberts ABC Store in Washington, Ga. He later was affiliated with Bi-Lo Stores for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church and a former Gideon.

He is survived by: wife of the home, Lettie Mae Mize Roberts, sons, Daniel Vance Roberts, Jr., of Lookout Mountain, Ga., and Samuel Pope Roberts of Tignall, Ga., sister, Bobbie Dale Allen of Bogart, Ga. Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George Johnson Roberts and a sister, Sara Pope.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. from the Holly Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Donnie Berry will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7to 9p.m. Saturday evening. The family will be at the home of Lois Mize, 236 Herndon Circle, Bowman, Ga.
