Mrs. Vassie Adams Evans, 92, of 100 Hart State Park Road, Hartwell, GA, died Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Hart County Hospital.

Born October 24, 1914 in Hart County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Dillard Adams and Estell Pierson Adams.She was retired from Abney Mills and was a homemaker.She was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church and of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW of Elberton.She was a Christian and a wonderful mother.

Survivors include:Daughter, Ruth Evans Norris and her husband Floyd of Hartwell, GA; Sisters, Sarah Garrett of Anderson, SC, and Elizabeth Norris of Honea Path, SC; Two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by husband, Bennie Howard Evans; Daughter, Edna Evans Lewis; Brothers, Verlen Adams, Glenn Adams, William Adams and Thermon Adams; Sisters, Dorothy Dunn, Shirley Mincey and Eurel Webb; and grandchildren, Terry Lewis and Larry Lewis.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. Ken Brewer and Rev. Terry Meeks will officiate.Burial will be in the New Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson, SC.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. The family is at the home.
