Obituary
Mrs. Venice Stovall Carey, 72, of 2148 Old Hwy 29, Hartwell, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born on May 17, 1939 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Hubert W. Stovall and Willie Mae Massey Stovall. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by her son: Mike Carey and his wife, Allisa, of Dewy Rose; one daughter: Kim Robertson and her husband, David, of Bowersville; one brother: Charles Stovall of Hartwell; two sisters: Geraldine Ivy and Bonnie White of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren: Alex Robertson, Brittany Robertson, Josh Carey, and Michaela Carey; and one great grandchild: Brooklyn Kate Vassar. Mrs. Carey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John Austin "J.O." Carey; and two brothers: Howard Stovall and Ronnie Stovall.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell Chapel. Burial will follow in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the Alzheimer's Association, 1925 Century Blvd., Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345-3315.
