Mrs. Vera Jean Buis Davis, 86, formerly of 30 Harper Drive, Hartwell, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston, GA.
Born on June 28, 1925 in Belle Union, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Roy C. Buis and Mabel Forrest McAninch Buis.She was retired from Hartwell Company where she worked as office personnel and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons: Dave Davis and his wife Debbie of Hartwell, Steve Davis and his wife Ramona of Columbus, Nebraska, and Mark Davis and his wife Tammy of Snellville, GA; one daughter: Jody Williams and her husband Bobby of Bowersville; and three sisters: Ella Rarridon of Plainfield, Indiana, Blanche Stubblefield of Coatesville, Indiana, and Emma Kay Gorham of Brazil, Indiana. Ten Grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Charles Buis, Lloyd Buis, and Leon Buis; and one sister: Ruth Woods.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Coleman officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday.The family is at the home ofBobby & Jody Williams, 663 Lavonia Hwy, Bowersville, GA.
