Mrs. Vera Shiflet Patterson, 89, of 313 W. Roosevelt Dr, Anderson SC, died Saturday, January 9 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson.
Born on October 15, 1920 in Hart County GA, she was the daughter of the late Jessie B. Shiflet & Flora Driver Shiflet.She was retired from Pope Drive Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for 17 years and was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia Gunter of Anderson; a son, Harold Patterson of Anderson; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Patterson; a son, James A. Patterson Jr.; a brother, Oscar Shiflet and two nephews, Jimmy and Edsel Shiflet.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.The family is at their respective homes.Flowers optional, memorial may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson SC, 29621
