Mrs. Vera Louise Workman Wilson, 94, of Simpson Road, Anderson, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Rainey Hospice House with her family by her side.
Born on July 20, 1920 in Reeds Spring, MO, she was the daughter of the late Rolly Lloyd Workman and
Ethel Gabel Workman.She was a former secretary and homemaker and was co-owner/bookkeeper of a Firestone Tire Store in Valdosta, GA.
Survivors include her devoted husband of seventy one years: William Raymond Wilson: one daughter: Janice Wilson Tidwell and her husband Jerry of Hartwell; two sons: Robert Allan Wilson and his wife Janice of Taylors, SC and Stephen Ray Wilson and his wife Christine of Buford, GA.Mrs. Wilson was a proud grandma of seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.She is also survived by her youngest sister Helen Maxine Scott of Seal Beach, CA. Her family was the joy of her life and she will be greatly missed.Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 1, 11:00 am at the chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home in Hartwell with the Rev. Carl Lancaster officiating.The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 Saturday prior to the service.The family will be at the home of Janice and Jerry Tidwell, 6550 Reed Creek Road, Hartwell after the service.
