Ms. Victoria Ann "Vickie" Thornton, age 79, of Dacusville, SC, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born January 23, 1931 in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late George & Clara (Drexler) Thornton. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and retired as a Registered Nurse. Ms. Thornton was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church and the Daughters of the Confederacy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: John Thornton; and sisters: Virginia Pruitt & Florence Thornton.
She is survived by her son: Mickey Herring of Travelers Rest, SC; daughters: Laura Alsep of Dacusville, SC & Robin Von Olszewski of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren & five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
