Mr. Vilnis Damroze, age 67, of Lavonia, died Tuesday, March 12, 2014 at his home following an extended illness.
Born May 24, 1946 in Eichstatt, West Germany, He was the son of the late Karlis and Matilda (Previs) Damroze. Mr. Damroze retired from Davis Transport and was a US Army veteran. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: W. Scot Damroze.
He is survived by son: Karlis Terry Damroze; daughters: Tammie Marie Damroze and Erika Leigh Damroze Harris; brother: Maris Damroze; and grandchildren: Tara Damroze, Geoffrey Johnston, Heather Johnston, Savannah Damroze, Sean Kelly, Nicole Kelly, Sean Damroze, Jordan Wilson, Joey Damroze, Alexis Harris, Adison Harris, Travis Damroze, Dylan Damroze Dakota Harris and Kameron Damroze.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Terry James officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the service. Mr. Damroze will be cremated in accordance with his wishes.
