Mrs. Virginia Harris Billings, 88, of Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.
Born on May 22, 1935 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Towe Harris. Mrs. Billings was a machine operator for Orr-Lyons Mills, and a member of the Ruhamah United Methodist Church in Starr, SC. She also loved keeping her grandbabies.
Survivors include her two daughters: Sandra Billings (Paul) of Hartwell, and Shirley Moore (James) of Toccoa; two sisters: Henrietta Odell (Jimmy) of Hartwell, and Mary Clark of Hartwell; four grandchildren: Teresa Owens (Tim) whom was raised in the home, April Carter (Jason), Tommy Hayes (Becky), and Tina Cleveland (Craig); and eleven great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Billings is preceded in death by her mother; husband: R.V. Billings; brothers: Charles, Carlton, and James Harris; and two sisters: Minnie Lee and Betty Bennett.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home of her daughter, Sandra Billings, 15 Graham Way, Hartwell, GA.
Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Billings will be Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Adam Veal officiating. Burial will be in the Ruhamah United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dan Williams officiating.
