Mrs. Mary Virginia Walton Cleveland, age 85 of 94 Cade Street, Hartwell, Ga., died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Hartwell Healthcare Center.

Born September 3, 1921 in Powder Springs, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Jesse Cooper Walton and Carolyn McTyre Buckelew. She was a retired merchant, having ran the Cleveland Grocery Store in Sardis Community for a number of years. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by: daughter, Carol Sanders and her husband Robert of Hartwell, Ga., grandchildren, Michelle Smith and her husband Matt and Cory Sanders and his wife Deanne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Cleveland.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Joe Black will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 6, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel. The family will be at the home of Carol & Robert Sanders, 3083 Liberty Hill Church Road, Hartwell, Ga.
