Mrs. Virginia Caudell Jones, 77, of Athens, St., Hartwell, died Monday, June 30, 2014 at her home.

Born on September 27, 1936 in Homer, GA, she was the daughter of the late M. David Caudell and Imogene Motes Caudell.She was retired from Johnson and Johnson as a production line worker. She was an active member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, WMU, Forever Young, Ladies Auxiliary Hart County Chapter and the Gideon's International.

Survivors include her husband: Wade M. Jones; one son: Jeff Jones and his wife Jill of Bowersville; two daughters: Vickie Apicella of Port Orange, FL, Janet Roland of Gainesville, GA; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters: Winnie Witcher of Hartwell and Robbie Shirley of Toccoa. She was preceded in death by a son: Gregory Wade Jones; two grandsons: Kenneth Wade Jones, Jeffery Keith Jones, Jr.; a son-in-law Lance Roland; five brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Black officiating.Burial will be in the Mt Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Youth Fund, 2973 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA. 30643.
