Obituary

Mrs. Virginia Louise VanCleve Phillips, 100, of Freedom Drive, Martin GA, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at her home.

Born on July 16, 1914 in Yorkville IL, she was the daughter of the late William E. VanCleve and Rachel Ann Jones VanCleve.Mrs. Phillips was retired from the Rich's Department Store in Atlanta and attended Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Hartwell.

Survivors include her two daughters: Patricia Carol Phillips Guill and her husband George of Canton GA and Judy Liane Phillips Stech of Martin; an adopted daughter: Donna Gross and her husband Al of Cape Coral FL; two grandchildren: Laura Liane Guill White and her husband Damon and Deborah Marie Guill Monfort and her husband Scott; three great-granddaughters: Olivia Grace Monfort and twin sisters, Piper Louise Monfort and Eleanor Marie Monfort also survive.Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband: Leslie Conrad Phillips; two sisters: Viola Johnson and Bernice Clayton and three brothers: Harley VanCleve, Victor VanCleve and Marvin VanCleve.

Graveside memorial services will be Wednesday May 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Saint John's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Franklin NC.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Star City Greyhound Adoption, Inc., 2907 Mt. Pleasant Blvd, Roanoke VA 24014.
