Mrs. Vivian Burdette Gable, 91, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024 at Quiet Oaks Healthcare in Crawford, GA.

Born on September 8, 1933 in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. Burdette and Marie Brown Burdette. Mrs. Gable was a lunchroom manager for the Clarke County School System, and she was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, but attended Corinth Baptist Church in Arnoldsville, GA, in her final years. Vivian was a member of the Red Hats, and she loved flower gardens and traveling with her children.

Survivors include three daughters: Marsha Gable Halloran (Patrick) of Arnoldsville, GA, Debbie Gable Crosby of Nashville, TN, and Robin Nadine Gable of Hartwell; two brothers: Wendell Burdette (Kate) of Iva, SC, and Johnny Burdette of Starr, SC; one sister: Nadine Pilgrim (Jimmy) of Starr, SC; four grandchildren: Shannon Dalton (Roy), Shane Halloran (Elizabeth), Colin Crosby (Kayln), Evan Crosby (Liza); and eleven great-grandchildren: Jackson Dalton (Ally), Gabe Dalton, Garrett Dalton, Chase Dalton, Bryson Cole Dalton, Abigail Vivian Halloran, Hank Halloran, Sims Gable Crosby, Addie Crosby, Layne Crosby, Hudson Keith Crosby, and Lucy Crosby; one great-great-grandchild: Bryson Cole Dalton. Mrs. Gable is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Furman K. (Gabe) Gable; two brothers: Dallas & Jimmy Burdette; and one sister: Dorothy Temples.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Gable will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Wayne Phillips and Mr. Patrick Halloran officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
