Mrs. Vivian Ruth (Thacker) Garrett, age 84, of Lavonia, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at her home following an extended illness.
Born September 17, 1935 in Pikeville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Allie Elaine (Huffman) Thacker. Mrs. Garrett was an entrepreneur having owned a couple of restaurants and antique stores. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband: Talmadge Lamar Garrett; children: Linda Kay Wise, Stephen Wayne Wise, Elizabeth Suzette Hamilton; grandchildren: Mark Paul Kroncke, Rebecca Ruth Sidore, Michelle Yvonne Hall and Aaron Lamar Hamilton; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
