Mr. Wade Mason Jones, 86, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at his home.

Born on June 28, 1934 in Westminster, SC he was the son of the late Garland F. Jones and Margie Rice Jones.Mr. Jones worked with Dunlop Sports from 1968-1991 where he retired as a plant manager. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where he served as a former deacon, Sunday school teacher and music leader. He also was a member of the Gideon International.He was a US Army veteran.

Survivors include one son: Jeff Jones (Jill) of Bowersville, two daughters: Vickie Apicella of Ormond Beach FL, Janet Roland of Gainesville; one sister: Hilda Waters of Gloverville SC; nine grandchildren: Thurston Vickery, Austin Vickery (Lacey), Brennan Vickery, Hunter Jones (Mollie), Katherine Halliday (Sean), Jaren Halliday, Mason Roland, Luke Apicella, Grace Roland; and five great grandchildren.Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Virginia Caudell Jones; one son: Gregory Wade Jones; two grandsons: Kenneth Wade Jones, Jeffery Keith Jones Jr.; son-in-law: Lance Roland and five siblings.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Wade Jones will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Webb officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN38105.
