Mr. Walbert Monroe "PeeWee" Fleming, 88, of 552 Opal Street Ext, Hartwell, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at his home.
Born on March 2, 1924 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Capers Fleming and Hattie Lou Vernon Fleming.Walbert was retired from Coats North America where he worked for 24 years as a tow motor operator.He was a member of Tugalo Baptist Church in Toccoa, GA.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Bell Craft Ertzberger Fleming of the home; two sons: Terry Fleming and his wife Nancy of Gainesville, GA, Jerry Fleming and his wife Nell of Martin, GA; two daughters: Jane Herring of Hartwell, Tracy Parsons and her husband Jack of Bowersville, GA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Frances Slocum Fleming; two brothers: James Fleming, Alton Fleming; and one sister, Marie Kay.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Tommy Childress, Rev. Gerald Beatty, and Dr. Kristi Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens, Toccoa, GA.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.The family is at the home.
