Walter Dennis Acuff, Jr., age 74, of Royston, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born June 30, 1951, in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Walter Acuff, Sr. (Claire) and Martha Nolan Dye. Before retirement Mr. Acuff worked as a butcher for Quality Foods in Hartwell and Dills Food City in Royston. He was a member of Little River Baptist Church; Walter was a devout Christian who loved his church and church family. He enjoyed singing, fishing and tinkering around the house with his various home projects. Walter was a member of the Rollon Bowling team in Anderson, SC achieving the highest score of any team in the last year.

He is survived by his wife: Rhonda Evrett Acuff, sons & daughters-in-law: Richard & Bianca Acuff & Christopher & Julie Acuff; grandchildren: Dasha Acuff, Alexis Acuff, Gabriel Acuff, Michael Acuff, Jennifer Acuff, Sara Acuff, Sophia Acuff, Kyla Beaupre & Hunter Beaupree; step daughter: Tiffany Simpson; stepson: Robert Bierman; and sister: Priscilla Horne; father-in-law: Jerry Evrett (Teresa); brother-in-law: Jr. Evrett; sister-in-law: Robin Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson: Terence Baxter; and mother-in-law: Peggy Daines

A visitation service will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other times the families will be at their respective homes. Mr. Acuff's request was to be cremated.
