Obituary

Mr. Walter John Klein, Sr., age 80, of Kingsland, GA, formerly of Lavonia, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at his home.
Born April 12, 1927, born in Long Island, NY, he was the son of the late Ivan D. and Mary Emily Klein. He graduated college with Associate in Science and Agricultural Engineering degrees. Mr. Klein was an Army veteran of WW II, a member of the Barber Shop Chorus, Gideon's International, VFW, and was member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Betty Ann Klein; sons: Charles D. Klein, Sr., Walter John Klein, Jr., and Timothy Brian Klein; brother: Franklin Klein; sisters: Martha Morris, Betty Ann Buxton, and Katherine Koritich; Eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Klein was predeceased by his parents; brothers: Edward Klein, Henry Klein, and Ivan Klein; sisters: Eleanor Palmer and Edna Waro.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jason DeFoor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the VFW presenting military honors.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
