Obituary
Mr. William Walton Vickery, 80, of 4741 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at his home.
Born on May 20, 1931 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Dewey Vickery and Eula Mae Holbrook Vickery.He was a mail carrier and a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.Mr. Vickery was also a member of Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690, a US Army Korean Conflict veteran, and a member of the waterhole gang at Dairy Queen.
Survivors include his wife: Betty Anna Teasley Vickery of the home; two sons: Bill Vickery and Bob Vickery both of Hartwell; one brother: James Heyward Vickery of Anderson, SC; and one sister: Joyce Hartsock of Ocala, FL.Mr. Vickery was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Jim Vickery; and one brother: Charles Vickery.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Coleman, Rev. David Wilson, and Rev. Connie Mack Bowers officiating.Burial will follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday.The family is at the home.Floral arrangements are optional and special memorials may be made out to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, c/o Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3636 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643.
