Obituary

Mr. Waymon Boles, 81, of 220 Wayne Circle, Hartwell, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Hart Care Center.

Born on April 18, 1929 in Elbert County, GA, he was the son of the late Ernest Esco Boles and Elsie Whitman Boles. He retired from Newton Mills after 43 years where he worked as a Loom Technician, he was a member of the VFW, the Woodmen of the World, a member and former deacon of Milltown Baptist Church, and was a US Army Korean War Veteran.

He is survived by his wife: Evie Lena Vickery Boles; one daughter: Sheri Lynne Fleming of Hartwell; two brothers: Charlie Boles of Hartwell, and Preston Boles of Athens; three grandchildren: Jimmy Brandon McDowell, Sheree Nicole Chappell, and Jennifer Michelle Mechling; and six great Grandchildren: Kate Moore McDowell, Cameron Bruce McDowell, Ethan Brandon McDowell, Alexis K. Daniel, Trinity A. Phillips, and Hunter W. Chappell also survive. Mr. Boles was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Georgia White Boles and two sisters: Alice Cox and Rosa Lee Brown.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer and Rev. Ray Black officiating. Burial will be in the Milltown Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.The family is at the home.
