Mr. Wayne W. Thomason, age 75, of Lavonia, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.
Born February 23, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late John Roy Thomason and Virginia (Durant) Thomason. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served for 8 years. He retired from Siemens, in Atlanta, as a Maintenance Technician. He was a Radio Controlled Model Airplane enthusiast and a proud member of the Hartwell Tailspinners and the Hilltoppers Model Flying Club. Mr. Thomason was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his siblings: Rev. Carol Morrow of Athens, Gail Seals of Lavonia, Audrey (Claude) Burke of Lavonia, and Phillip Thomason of Jacksonville, FL; and nephews: Richard Burke and Jeffrey Burke.
The graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Lacey Bowcock officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lavonia United Methodist Church Operating Fund, P.O. Box 176, Lavonia, GA 30553.
