Wayne Whitworth

Tommy Wayne Whitworth, age 69, of Lavonia, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026 at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born April 15, 1957, in Toccoa, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Roy Whitworth and Mildred Hicks Whitworth. Mr. Whitworth was a high school graduate and worked in manufacturing prior to his retirement.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Whitworth Bailey and Chris Bailey, and Sherry A. Whitworth Raley and Leland Raley; granddaughter, Erica Porterfield Padgett; sister, Brenda Whitsel; nephew, Chris & Greta Whitworth; and niece, Kelley & Michael Schulman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Huston Whitworth; his granddaughter, Hope Porterfield; and his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Brenda Whitworth.

A graveside service for Mr. Whitworth will be held Monday, August 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North.
