Mr. Weldon Tony Floyd, age 57, of 192 Lewis Drive, Lavonia died Thursday, August 10, 2006 in Franklin County.
Born July 9, 1949, he was a son of the late Oz and Anniebell Pitts Floyd. Mr. Floyd worked in maintenance. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Floyd is survived his wife: Diane Kalb Floyd; sons: T.J. Floyd of the home, and Tim Floyd of Martin; daughters: Sandy Floyd of Martin, Anna Floyd and Stephanie Floyd both of Marietta; brothers: Ancel Floyd, Aaron Floyd and Maurice Floyd of Lavonia, Shelton Floyd of Marietta, Wesley Floyd of Cullman, AL; sisters: Barbara McMachon of Marietta, Anita Wright of Onida, TN; grandchildren: Trae Owens, Erica Landrum and Tyler Landrum. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Brenda Brawner and Joan Simms.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2006 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with the Rev. Gettis Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Memorial Gardens – North.
The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The family will be at the home of Sandy, 2561 Pleasant Hill Road, Martin.
