James Wendell Duck, age 73, of Lavonia, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born June 17, 1949 in Royston, he was the son of the late Haskell James and Annie Pearl (Walls) Duck. He was a self-employed Truck Driver, CB handle "Winemaker".

He is survived by his wife: Norma Lee (Uphoff) Duck; children: Christopher Duck (Lisa), Stephanie Duck (Brannon), Sonya Duck, Vicki Fountain, Lora Day (Tom), Chuck Kifer (Jessie) & Steven Kifer (Dawn); grandchildren: Jamie Parker, Chris Duck, Destiny Thrailkill, Hunter Weisenfeld & Chelsea Lyons; siblings: Clyde Duck, Billy Duck, Shirley Riddle, Margaret Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Wynell Duck, Eloise Duck, Howard Duck, Shelton Duck, Grady Duck & Paul Duck.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday September 10, 2022 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Margaret Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday the 10th beginning at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at T2T.org.
