Mr. Charles Wesley Smith, age 72, of Carnesville, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born August 8, 1946, in Stephens County, he was the son of the late Sammie and Frances (Pickens) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Smith. Mr. Smith was a 1964 graduate of Stephens County High School. He was a self-employed heavy machine operator, where he specialized in grading and other aspects of construction. He was a member of Middle River Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Carnes) Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Stevan and Amy Smith; grandchildren and their spouses, Brittany and Jason Pritchett and Clayton and Brooke Smith; and great-grandchildren, Blakely and Emmie Rose Pritchett.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Truth Fellowship in Carnesville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
