Mr. William T. "Bill" Jones, 72, of 70 Golden Oaks Dr., Hartwell, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at his home.
Born August 31, 1925 in York, SC, he was the son of the late Edward Randolph Jones, Sr and Margaret Elizabeth Long Jones.He had a B.A. from Georgia State University in Business. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 34 years.He was a member of the American Legion Post 109, Hartwell VFW, Hart County Golden K, Shrine-Yarrab Temple in Atlanta, Masonic Lodge #41 in Decatur, and Elks Lodge #1602 in Stone Mountain.He was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran and served on the USS Wasp.
He is survived by; Two brother in laws, One sister in law, and several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by:Parents, Brother, Edward Randolph Jones, Jr; Sisters, Annie Kate Smith and Frances M. McEachin.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Cremation will follow the service.
The body is the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 to 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home. The family requests no flowers; Memorials may be made to Hart County Golden K, PO Box 832 Hartwell, GA30643
