Mr. William F. "Bill" White, 71, of 123 Emory Dr, Hartwell, died Sunday, August 01, 2010 at Gordon Hospital, Calhoun GA.
Born August 3, 1938 in Oglethorpe Co, GA, he is the son of Lois Morgan White and the late Floyd Herschel White.He graduated from Oglethorpe County High School, Lexington, GA.He retired from Georgia Power Company after 38 years and currently employed by Hart Telephone Company.He was a member of Hartwell First Baptist Church and was in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He is survived by:Mother; Wife, Nelle B. White of the home; Son, William Floyd White, Jr of Hartwell, GA; Daughter, Cynthia W. Brown and her husband Martin of Calhoun, GA; Brothers, Paul W. White of Athens, GA and John K. White of Crawford, GA; Grandson, Copelan Bradshaw Brown; Granddaughters, Karcyn E. Brown and Kyndal L. Brown all of Calhoun, GA.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Hartwell First Baptist Church.Dr. F. Hugh Kirby, Dr. Steve Williams, Rev. Carter Tucker and Rev. R.C. Oglesby will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional; Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Winn Dixie Hope Lodge, 1552 Shope Court, Decatur, GA30033.
