Mr. William M. "Billy" Brown Jr, 92, of Clearview Road, Hartwell, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at his home.

Born on September 21, 1925 in Bowersville GA, he was the son of the late William M. "Willie" Brown Sr. and Jewell Cash Brown Crook and step-son of Arad Crook.Mr. Brown attended Clemson University and Georgia Southwestern in Americus GA.He was formerly employed at Franklin Mineral Products for several years and was retired owner & operator of Crook's Parts & Supply.Mr. Brown was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell, Baracus Sunday School Class and a former choir member. He also was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years: Juanita Kay "Nita" Brown; a son: Mike Brown (Frances) of Douglasville GA; a daughter: Julie Alewine (Jim) of Toccoa GA; three grandchildren: Jeffrey Brown, Chris Alewine (Holly) and Jill Worley (Judd) and three great-grandchildren: Carson & Easton Worley and Evan Alewine also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hartwell with Dr. Steve Albanese, Dr. Hugh Kirby and Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.The body will be placed in the church at 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hartwell, 81 East Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643.
