William Evans Burgess, age 77, of Martin, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born May 9, 1946 in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Percy Evans and Thelma Keebler Burgess. Before retirement he worked as a Protection Officer for the US Forestry Service. Mr. Burgess was a veteran of the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife: Lynn Diane (Rothrock) Burgess; children: Jeffrey Burgess, Tracy Burgess-Anderson, Cari Burgess; grandchildren: Kegan Burgess, Jeffery Burgess, Alyssa Thomas; and a brother: Ed Burgess.

Mr. Burgess was cremated in accordance with his request. The family will gather for a celebration of life at a later date.
