Obituary

Mr. William Isham "Brick" Cordell, 90 of 1882 Elberton Hwy, Hartwell, died Monday, January 11 at Hartwell Health Care Center.

Born on May 24, 1920 in Hart Co. GA, he was the son of the late Isham Hailey Cordell and Fannie Lee Craft Cordell.He was retired owner-operator of Oak Valley Processing Plant, a former member of the American Legion and VFW.He was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church, former deacon, cemetery chairman, SS teacher & Training Union director and former member of the brotherhood.He was a WW II U S Army Air Corps veteran, serving in Europe.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Adams Cordell of the home; a daughter, Janet C. Moorhead of Canon; three sons, Bill Cordell of Panama City Beach FL, Bob Cordell of Hartwell and Tommy Cordell of Toccoa; a brother, Tom Cordell; a sister, Betty Vickery Payne of Hartwell; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren also survive.Mr. Cordell was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Amos Cordell, Gaines Cordell and Harold Cordell.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Rev. James Sexton officiating.Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night. The family is at the home.Memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 3285 Elberton Hwy, Hartwell, GA30643.
