Obituary
Mr. William O. Cornelius, 81, of 774 Camelia Lane, Vero Beach FL, died Thursday, March 8 at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach FL.
Born on March 8, 1925 in Elbert Co. GA, he was the son of the late William Oliver Cornelius and Lena Dobbins Cornelius.He was retired from Southern Bell, where he had worked in the Orlando and Jacksonville offices and served as plant manager of the Stuart office at his retirement.He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the First Baptist Church of Vero Beach.He was a WW II U S Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years: Margaret Hill Cornelius of the home; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ed Sayer officiating.Burial will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery, Elberton, GA.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.The family is at their respective homes.
