Mr. William Riley "W.R." Parson, 80, of Ridge Road, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at his home.

Born on June 28, 1937 in Portageville Missouri, he was the son of Thomas Edgar Parson and Bessie Tankersley Parson.Mr. Parson was a retired machine operator from Milliken-Newton Mill and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; Georgie Yvonne Agnew Parson; a daughter: Teresa Trujillo & Obdulio of Bowersville; a granddaughter: Savanna Brown of Hartwell; a brother: Tommy Parson of Alabama and a sister: Shirley Collins of Florida.Mr. Parson was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Benny Derrell Parson; two brothers: J.W. Parson and Ed "Jr." Parson and three sisters: Wynelle Parson, Audrey Nell Kilburn and Frances Barker.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Curtis King and Rev. David Price officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.The family is at the home.
