Mr. William "Bill" Telgen, 83, of Brown Circle, Hartwell, died peacefully Thursday, January 24 at Hartwell Health Care Center.

Born on December 19, 1929 in Wyckoff NJ, he was retired from Delta Airlines, a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife: Joanne Evert Telgen of the home; two daughters: Connie Fields of Millen GA and Cindy Mason of Woodburn OR; a daughte-in-law: Tamberlyn Telgen of Hiram GA; five grandchildren: Brian (Rhonda) Fields, Tommy (Jennifer) Telgen, Caitlin Mason, Carl Mason and Dustin Telgen; three great grandchildren: Autumn, Caroline and Tucker; a brother: Donald (Ann) Telgen of Loxahatchee FL also survives.Mr. Telgen was preceded in death by his son, Robert "Bobby" Telgen.

Mr. Telgen wished to be cremated and the family will have a visitation Saturday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Odyssey Hospice, 855 Gaines School Road, Suite G, Athens GA 30605 or Hartwell Health Care Center, Patient Activity Fund, 94 Cade Street, Hartwell, GA30643.
