William Jerry Watkins, age 81, of Canon, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born August 9, 1940, he was the son of the late Jake and Lucy Cisson Watkins. He was a retired truck driver. Met in heaven by his wife: Pamela Sue Watkins, his granddaughter: Everlee Newbern and her dad: Levi Newbern

He is survived by his children: Allison Defoor and John Watkins; sister: June Lee; grandchildren: Kelsey Maria Carlyle, Chelsey Jay Watkins, William Ethan John Watkins, Lincoln Defoor, and Larson Defoor; and great-grandchildren: Piper Lee, Nicholas Newbern, and Delilah Brown

The memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia. Flowers are welcome.
